The TSAF Methodology          Mission   Environment Care

TSAF aims to develop the spirit of adventure and enterprise among children, youth, corporate employees and senior citizens - men and women of all age group and from all walks of life. It emphasizes the creation of positive attitude amongst participants, through a multidisciplinary approach and a wide range of activities.

TSAF has evolved a concept of using the medium of adventure, like mountain trekking, parasailing and river rafting, to implement and appreciate managment techniques - particularly team building.

The Foundation's strength is in its motivated people who have the ability to create a safe and supportive atmosphere which encourages learning by doing. The staff spares no pains in making each programme an experience of a lifetime. When you are provided with the opportunity to reflect and understand your inherent strength, you take the initiative to experience life to the fullest.

The Reality Check

The stage is set for learning by presenting the participants with real problems, real consequences and real constraints. The fact that, both the means and the end matter, is brought out by example. A team which undertakes rock climbing, for instance, suffers a penalty if it performs poorly. So the tasks given are real, though unusual. Their attainment encourage and produce interpersonal processes and behaviour, which are typical of the way teams operate in real situations.

A Great Leveller

For participants, the Himalaya is a very unusual and alien environment. The activities they have to undertake too are unusual - very different from the activities of their everyday life. Further, the experience is overwhelming and so challenging that participants have to constantly depend on each other. They are all at an equal footing, with seniority and social status of no consequence. As a result they form very close bond with each other, which last well beyond the duration of the course.

Each person has something to learn and nature gives him/her the perfect opportunity to do so. The programmes are designed to ensure that regardless of health, age and physical fitness each participant can contribute. Each participant is encouraged to try something new, and assert himself/herself.
