PREPARING FOR THE PROGRAMMES

TSAF conducts it's Adventure Programmes in the environs of Jamshedpur as well as in Uttarkashi, Garhwal Himalaya. The Foundation has well equipped stores at both locations to cater to every equipment need of the participants. Supplies range from rucksack and sleeping bags to rock climbing equipment and parachutes. TSAF provides tented accommodation for all programmes conducted by it in outdoor locations. In Jamshedpur, in case of early arrival, accommodation is available on request at Sports Hostel at JRD Tata Sports Complex. For similar situation in Uttarkashi, Hotels are available at reasonable rates.

Insurance

Every safety precaution is taken by TSAF and its staff. However, it is advisable that all participants take insurance cover for the period of the programme under "Mountaineering Clause".

Medical

A Medical check up is recommended and a fit certificate should be obtained prior to undertaking any programme. Participants should carry general use and personal medicines with them. Instructors of TSAF carry first aid kit on all programmes.

Reporting at Uttarkashi

For Joining Instructions please click here. Uttarkashi can be reached by road via Haridwar and Rishikesh. It takes about 12 hours to reach Uttarkashi from Delhi. Last bus leaves Rishikesh at 12 noon for Uttarkashi. Share taxies are also available from Rishikesh upto 3 pm. Train services are also available for Haridwar from Delhi. Reporting at Jamshedpur

You have to arrive on the previous evening to the day the course starts at Jamshedpur. You have to report at JRD Tata Sports Complex on the first day of the course, as per joining instructions. However, the reporting place for parasailing is at Sonari Airport and for river rafting at River Pump House, Mango. There is a full fledged Sports Hostel in the JRD Tata Sports Complex, having 6 bedded rooms and 2 bedded rooms. These are available at reasonable rates.

Subsidised amount payable against total expenses to be incurred

The subsidised amount for the programme covers training, camping facilities, vegetarian food, transportation for camp establishment, kitchen staff expenses, porterage, fuel, maintenance of equipment and miscellaneous expenses.

Cancellation of amount paid

Application for cancellation should reach the TSAF office 20 days before the commencement of the programme. Only 50% of the amount paid shall be refunded on such cancellation.

TSAF has been successful in designing and delivering various adventure programmes for not only the employees of Tata Steel but also for the community in general. The multidisciplinary nature of its programmes allows people of all age groups & all walks of life to participate in adventure programmes of their choice.

To prepare people to face the challenges in life, TSAF is contributing by providing educational value and by inculcating managerial skills like that of problem solving, creative thinking & teamwork through its programmes. The spirit of adventure and discipline among the participants, which is at the core of all TSAF's programmes, enable participants to stretch themselves beyond their imagination and discover not only their intrinsic potential but it also provides glimpses of vastness, beauty and wonders of the nature. While the adventure programmes are undoubtedly demanding and challenging but it also provide learning through a lot of fun and enjoyment.
