OUTDOOR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME FOR STUDENTS (10 days/ 14 days)
Open to the 12 - 23 age group, it is a general adventure programme with a range of exciting activities. Its aim is to complement the educational system by instilling in students respect for (a) oneself, through the meeting of challenge and adventure, (b) others, through group experience & decision making and (c) the natural and scientific world through direct experience. While extending the scope of your interests and knowledge, it will instill in you a sense of camaraderie, discipline, selflessness, concern for others, service to society and most importantly moral courage.
By channelising the energies of youth in a positive direction, this programme helps you assimilate virtues such as self reliance, cooperation, confidence, use of imagination and its implementation through your ability to innovate. This course has been carefully designed to enthuse and encourage school and college students, to be a good human being first and then an Officer or Engineer or Doctor. All equipment is provided by TSAF. Refer calendar for dates.
No previous experience required.

Outdoor adventure for developing skills, environment awareness, service to community and personal development
Having organised numerous programmes for young people, and seeing each one of them blossom in the lap of nature, TSAF is fully convinced on the value of Outdoor Adventure experiences. Such experiences holds the key to releasing the constructive energies and initiatives of the young, empowering them to personal achievement. Conversely, the lack of such opportunities may limit their potential.
Young people are no less idealistic or capable than before, but many of them are now faced with a bewildering array of changes and choices. They are conditioned by materialistic values and opportunities which, for many young people, provide a kind of escape from boredom and frustration. Many are living in deprived conditions. Some display apathetic or rebellious attitude which are signs of personal dissatisfaction and which do not serve the need of society. Adventurous experiences out-of-doors are perceived to kindle the enthusiasm of the young, to develop their concern for others, for their community and for the environment. Such experiences provide the means of self - discovery, self - expression and enjoyment which are at once both stimulating and fulfilling. It thus emerges that, for young people and adults alike, Outdoor Adventure is perceived as a vechile for building values and ideals, for developing creativity and enterprise, for enhancing a sense of citizenship, and for widening physical, mental and spiritual horizons...

Right from the first morning, duty of answering the call of nature, storing our things in a small area, going to the river, bathing & dressing in the open, grouping in the dark etc. led us into a new routine in the mountains. There was not only thrill, the group community life brought out its charms, the hidden qualities like standing by each other, courage & self - reliance. This has been an experience which I will never forget throughout my life. Nothing is impossible, if you have firm determination, the dedication to work, sincerity to achieve your goal and willingness to achieve something in life.
