About Me

Hemant Gupta, completed his B. Tech in Metallurgical Eng & Material Science from IIT Bombay in 2011 and joined Tata Steel as Manager Operations. His first tryst with adventure sports came during his graduation through a basic course in mountaineering. After joining Tata Steel he went on expeditions and soon switched to Tata Steel Adventure Foundation in 2013 to follow his heart. As Manager Adventure Programme in TSAF, Hemant is responsible for extending TSAF reach, introducing new courses and designing courses and development of Sport climbing. His favourite activities are rock climbing, mountaineering & running.

  • » Mt Everest (29028ft) Expedition. Man of Steel Hemant Gupta successfully climbed Mt Everest on 27th May, 2017
  • » Mt Everest Expedition 2015. He was in camp -2 (21,350ft) when an earthquake of magnitude 7.9 struck the Nepal and Everest region. Huge avalanches were triggered by the quake, fortunately he escaped death. The expedition was cancelled after this tragedy in Nepal.
